Dashcam.io is designed so that you never have to trust a server with your driving footage. Video lives in the app's private storage. Object detection runs on-device with MediaPipe. AI trip summaries run on-device with Gemma 3. The only time a clip leaves the device is when you explicitly tap Share, or when a crash auto-upload fires on a premium plan — and even then, uploads go through a per-user signed URL with a 7-day expiry.
